Aloha from Honolulu! Today I finally got OpenClaw (v2026.3.13) running locally on my Debian box—a hobbyist AI agent powered by Anthropic’s Claude (for now). Think of it as my own JARVIS-lite: it chats via a clean web dashboard at 127.0.0.1:18789, runs as a systemd user service, and is ready for tools like web search, channels (Telegram, Discord), and skills once I enable them.
Setup was straightforward: npm global install, QuickStart onboarding (loopback gateway, token auth), but hit a quick snag with low Anthropic credits—topping up tonight to wake it properly with “Wake up, my friend!”.
Why bother? It’s a fun sandbox for experimenting with local agents, ethical tool use, and maybe integrating it into my JARVIS projects down the line. No public exposure yet—keeping it personal and secure.
